As Malaysia adopts the UNECE regulations for passenger cars, several car manufacturers in Malaysia have begun integrating rear fog lamps onto their vehicles.
For most part, this is a welcomed move. Rear fog lamps are extremely useful when weather conditions are bad, like a heavy downpour or a foggy day (rarely happens here).
However, because rear fog lamps are designed to pierce through less-than-ideal weather conditions, they are pretty bright, to say at least. I’m pretty sure most of you guys have encountered drivers with their rear fogs on. When viewed directly from the rear, it can be extremely blinding.
Like your main headlights, remember to turn off your rear fogs the moment the weather clears up. Do not leave them on as this endangers other road users.
