Mr. Jo Takekawa, Managing Director of Bridgestone Malaysia said, “The Bridgestone Group commits itself towards contributing to society, not only through its business operations, but also through good corporate citizenship. In our efforts to support the local communities, we undertake initiatives directed towards addressing local issues, such as to help promote cancer awareness. By lending our support, we hope to create a better understanding of cancer which may in turn lead to prevention and early detection. We believe that charitable events such as “Relay For Life” organised by NCSM offers the much needed support and hope to cancer patients and their caregivers through the challenging times.

According to Dato’ Zuraidah Atan, Chairperson of “Relay For Life Malaysia 2015” and NCSM Honorary Advisor, the funds raised during the “Relay For Life” event will be used to educate the community about early detection and prevention of cancer, as well as provide suitable care for cancer patients by giving them better access to screening facilities. Part of the funds will also be allocated to organising future events to support cancer patients and their caregivers, and to empower them and improve their quality of life.
