It was bound to happen wasn’t it? Right after the folks at Maranello announced the launch of the more extreme LaFerrari XX, McLaren were quick to release plans to introduce a more extreme and faster P1. Just like the LaFerrari XX, this “beefed-up” version of the P1 will be a track-only beast.
McLaren spokesman Wayne Bruce confirmed a media report from Autocar stating that, following requests from a number of P1 owners, the company has contacted all 375 buyers to gauge interest in a dedicated and more extreme version of the P1. With that, this P1 “track” will be more powerful and faster than the standard P1, with more extreme aero tuned styling and minimalist interior refinements are among the features of this P1 “track”. The standard P1 has a colossal 901bhp with 900Nm of torque, so it remains very intriguing to know how the boffins from Woking will transform the already fast P1 into a potential rocket-ship!
However, production for the P1 “track” will commerce once all 375-units of the standard P1 have been delivered. This upgrade will be only offered for existing P1 owners only.
