The facelift Subaru Forester has been improved in terms of handling dynamics, innovative technologies and aesthetic upgrades, making it the ideal choice for an active family that lives life to the fullest.
All three variants feature Subaru’s signature hexagon front grille, new C-shaped tailights to match the headlights and a new fan-style wheel design with 17-inch rims. The baseline variant, 2.0i comes with halogen reflector and new bumper design, while the 2.0i-P and 2.0XT variant receive LED headlamps with the C-shaped daytime running lights.
Inside the cabin, buyers will be able to find a stylish TFT LCD colour display, premium head-unit and redesigned steering wheel as standard across all variants. The premium feel is further enhanced in the 2.0i-P and 2.0XT trim level with additional features such as automatic wipers and headlamps, power rear gate, power adjustable driver seat with memory function and power adjustable passanger seat, smart entry and push start, dual zone automatic air-conditioning, SI drive and high grade multifunction display.
On top of that, the 2.0i-P and 2.0XT variants will come standard with Personal Identification Number (PIN) code access that provides an extra protection against misplaced or damaged key fobs, especially when spending time outdoors or enjoying adventurous sports like running, rock climbing or mountain biking. This feature allows customers to access the Subaru Forester without using a key fob, which can be safely and securely left inside the vehicle.
The top-of-the-range 2.0XT on the other hand, adds even more luxurious feature such as sunroof, premium audio system with Harman Kardons speakers and 18-inch rims.
At launch, facelift Subaru Forester comes with two choice of powertrain; the 2.0i and 2.0i-P is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Boxer Engine that outputs 150PS and 198Nm peak of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.0XT is powered by Direct-Injection Turbocharged Boxer engine that adds power and performance to the adventurous side of Forester. When mated to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT), it produces 241PS and 350Nm of torque.
In terms of fuel economy, the 2.0XT variant can achieve a decent fuel consumption of 8.5-litre/100km (combined) while the 2.0i and 2.0i-P variant is capable of achieving 7.9-litre/100km (combined).
For maximum comfort and handling, the Forester’s suspension has been enhanced with stiffer front cross member, enhanced coil and damper. As a result, drivers will experience a more comfortable ride quality with agile and nimble handling across all urban and off-road terrains.
To maximise occupant comfort and ride quality, noise from inside and outside the cabin has been reduced as a result of improved sound proofing materials and increased window thickness.
A key highlight of the facelift Subaru Forester is the X-Mode, which ensures optimised control of the vehicle by delivering on functions such as Hill Decent Control (HDC), Enhanced All-Wheel Drive (AWD) System and Enhanced Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). X-Mode comes standard across all three variants.
When in X-Mode, the on-board computer coordinates the throttle, transmission, brakes and Symetrical All-Wheel Drive (S-AWD) to help anyone safely drive through any difficult terrain. X-Mode’s HDC helps modulate speed whether the vehicle is going down a steep hill in the city or through gravel slopes in the outdoors. Additionally, the combination of X-Mode with Subaru’s S-AWD can also help the Forester to get out of muddy terrain when one or more wheels get stuck.
Steering Responsive Headlights have also been fitted on the 2.0i-P and the 2.0XT variants. This technology allows the headlight beam to move to the left of right according to the direction of the steering wheel, maximising driver visibility and safety.
Additional standard safety features for all variants include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, engine immobiliser, brake override, safety pedal system, ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Available in 5 colour options – Pure While, Silver Metallic, Dark Grey Metallic, Sephia Bronze Metallic and Obsidian Black Metallic – the Subaru Forester is now open for bookings at all Subaru showrooms nationwide.
