Slated to debut within this month, a lone photo of the 2016 Proton Perdana has surfaced. This time, the said model is completely free of camouflage.
It is no secret that Proton will be launching two variants of the Perdana, namely the 2.0 and 2.4. According to sources, the 2.4 variant is likely to make a debut first, followed by the 2.0 variant. Pictured here is the 2.0 variant, we believe.
The biggest hint that this is the lesser model is design of the wheels. When Tun M teased the Perdana 2.4 during the Alami Proton carnival, it wore a different set of wheels. Also missing on this model is the dual-tone bodykit that the 2.4 wears.
To recap, the 2016 Proton Perdana will utilize Honda engines where the range-topping variant will be fitted with an i-VTEC 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 178 hp at 6,500 rpm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. The 2.0 variant, on the other hand, will utilize a 2.0-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine with 152 hp at 6,300 rpm and 189 Nm at 4,300 rpm. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
