By any chance, do you feel that the current fastest production hot hatch in the world, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, is a tad too small? Wish it had a bit more space? Then Mercedes-Benz has answered your call by announcing a new hot crossover, powered by perhaps the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world.

Introducing the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG Crossover, which is basically the A45 AMG hot hatch on steroids. Similarly with the A45 AMG, this crossover is powered by a 2.0L twin-scroll turbocharged engine with 360 BHP and a whopping 450Nm of torque, which propels the car from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. As per other fast cars from Germany, it is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

It has similar goodies with the A45 AMG hot hatch, including a Speedshift DCT 7-Speed automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive system, start-stop and launch control system. In the handling department, the GLA 45 AMG was beefed up with stiffer steering knuckles and new elastokinematics on the front. The four-link rear axle at the back is also unique to this AMG model.

The GLA 45 AMG is set to make its worldwide debut at next week’s Detroit Auto Show. This could easily be the world’s fastest crossover ever produced.
