In a perfectly normal world, the car would be towing a trailer. But Volkswagen wants to do just the opposite of that, with the trailer towing the car!
Volkswagen’s Norwegian division built this trailer that gave the impression that the Volkswagen Passat was reversing, but in actual fact, was a custom built rig.
The engineers at Volkswagen took a small sedan and built a trailer around it, including employing the use of plexiglass frames. The plexiglass allows the driver to see out, but not the other way. Despite that, driving the trailer was far from easy, as both the front and back drivers have to trust each other and synchronize their driving.
This amusing rig was created to promote the Volkswagen Trailer Assist, a feature eases reversing for those who tows a trailer.
