Colour selection is a very important part of the vehicle purchases because it says something about your personality.
A recent study conduction by Autotrader in the U.S during the first six months of 2015 revealed that metallic black is the most popular this year. In fact, one in four vehicles searched for on the website are black. The most popular black vehicles on the site are the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado and Jeep Wrangler, while the most popular black luxury vehicles are the BMW X5, Mercedes S550 and Cadillac CTS.
Autotrader managing editor, Tara Trompeter commented, “People are more likely to buy cars that reflect their personalities, the same way they do with fashion and accessories. And everyone knows it doesn’t get more classic than black.”
Many consumers they surveyed confirmed that colour is “very important” process when purchasing a brand new vehicle. In fact, a full three-quarters of respondents said they would delay their purchase to get the car they want in the colour they prefer.
Interestingly, however, most shoppers surveyed don’t want their car to be painted a bright colour, instead preferring neutral tones such as white, silver or black. Many respondents noted that they “like the look” of brightly coloured cars “but not to own or drive.”
