KTM to introduce 800 cc bike?

Over the weekend, I have been spotting posts across several Facebook groups (mainly KTM groups) about an upcoming bike – rumoured to be powered by a 800 cc engine while sporting the usual steel-trellis frame from the KTM Duke. Much of this info came from a German magazine.

At first, I brushed off these rumours as they did not seem legit. Until now, that is, images of the said bike have been spied undergoing tests. However in the photo gallery, it seems that there is also the possibly of a new KTM Superduke R, Husqvarna’s Svartpilen and Vitpilen – otherwise known as Husqvarna 401 Scrambler/Café racer.

The Husqvarna 401 would sport the same engine and chassis as the KTM RC390 – no doubt as KTM owns Husqvarna now.

If KTM would really come up with parallel twin motorcycles, and if they ever make adventure or adventure-touring ones, it would bring in more choices for the buyers of KTM. The 800 cc bike is also rumoured to be manufactured in Mattighofen, Austria.

The bike is currently rumoured to sport WP forks, Brembo brakes, a parallel twin engine that produces about 100 horsepower and weighs below 200 kg (good news for me!) and is said to be priced within the 10,000 Euro range.
