The Lexus SC was Lexus’s grand tourer answer to the Mercedes-Benz SL, and was based on a Toyota Soarer. Production of the first generation started in 1991 and ended in 2000, while the second generation Lexus SC made a debut in 2001, before ending production in 2010.
Thanks to Matt Farah, we have photos of what could possibly be the next generation Lexus SC, which was said to be accompanied by a Lexus LS sedan, BMW 650i and a Porsche 911. Perhaps the latter two are the benchmark for the new Lexus SC?
There has been no solid information on powertrains as yet, but we are guessing that the new Lexus SC could be sharing the same 5.0-litre V8 as the Lexus RC-F coupe, which pushes out 470hp and 530Nm of torque. Could the Lexus SC be slotted above the Lexus RC-F as a premium grand tourer?
Stay tuned for more juicy updates!
