MINI Malaysia today introduced the refreshed MINI Cooper S Countryman that comes with new exterior and interior design, optimised fuel consumption and emission figures as well as new standard features.
As of October 2014, MINI Malaysia has already delivered a total of 535 MINIs, a 45% increase compared to the same period in 2013. MINI Malaysia has been experiencing a positive growth since the beginning of 2013 and this latest addition in the MINI line-up in will further strengthen the brand’s business growth in Malaysia.
The MINI Cooper S Countryman is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol, 4-cylinder engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct injection completed with a fully variable valve management, to generate a maximum output of 190 hp and 240 Nm. This enables the MINI Cooper S Countryman to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds whilst reaching a top speed of 212 km/h. Despite the impressive acceleration, average fuel economy in the EU test cycle stands at a notable 7.5 litres per 100 kilometres.
Externally, the new MINI Cooper S Countryman provides a familiar interpretation of the classic MINI Countryman features such as the large glass surfaces and distinctive contours of the roof, the extra-wide border around the lower part of the body and the 18- inch alloy wheels in anthracite with Turbo Fan design. Elsewhere you’ll be able to find eye-catching features like newly designed front grille, new Xenon headlights, LED fog lights and daytime driving lights.
In its new interior offering, the new MINI Cooper S Countryman boasts a selection of new design and functional elements.This include the MINI Visual Boost with a 6.5-inch high-resolution colour LCD screen featuring the MINI Connected app. This app allows users to pick up preferred radio stations from around the world regardless of their location, provides access to innovative entertainment, social networking and driving-related functions. The MINI Connected also take its technology a step ahead where users can have permanent and unlimited access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. MINI Connected functionalities also include the Mission Control which coaches the driver on sustainable driving techniques with useful information obtained from the vehicle’s sensors; it is also loaded with around 1,800 pre-recorded messages. Besides being useful, this technology assures a great deal of joy and excitement.
Besides that, the MINI Cooper S Countryman comes fitted with Park Distance Control that makes entering or leaving the tightest parking space becomes much easier when driving this car. Another useful addition is the Sport Button, which tweaks the engine’s responses and the power assistance provided by the steering wheel.
