BMW Group Malaysia appoints new Managing Director

BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director

BMW Group AG has recently announced the appointment of Mr. Alan Harris (picture above on the right) as the new  Managing Director to oversee its operations in Malaysia to replace Dr. Gerhard Pils (picture above on the left).

Set to begin on 1st August 2014, Mr. Harris’ appointment is in preparation of the retirement  of current Managing Director, Dr. Gerhard Pils who over the past two years has made  tremendous strides in further strengthening BMW Group Malaysia’s network of dealerships,  allowing the premium automotive company to achieve the leading position in the premium  segment of the Malaysian automotive industry as well as significantly enhance its support for  customers throughout the country.

With 27 years’ experience with the BMW Group, Mr. Harris possesses an extensive  international background working with the company’s offices in his native England,  Singapore, Australia and North America prior to serving as Managing Director of BMW Group’s Regional Office responsible for Eastern Europe, Africa and Caribbean importer    markets, and most recently as President and CEO of BMW Japan. Moving forward Mr. Harris  will be applying his wealth of experience working with dynamic growth markets to further  solidify BMW Group Malaysia’s pole position in the premium automotive segment and to  identify new opportunities for growth as the country moves towards establishing itself as a truly viable hub for the assembly and manufacture of Advanced Automotive Technology.
