Criminals in Italy beware as the Italian Police have just received the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 as part of an effort to fight crime! Lamborghini CEO Stefan Winkelmann presented the Italian Police with a specially-outfitted Huracan at a ceremony in Rome.
This is not the first time the Italian police have received a fast Lambo as Lamborghini previously delivered Gallardos to them in 2004 and 2008. This new 610bhp 5.2-litre V10 beast will go into service in June, replacing the Gallardos and will be used for traffic handling, special missions and probably chasing speeding Ferraris for fun.
The Huracan LP 610-4 is equipped with goodies to fight crime, which includes a “Proof Video Data System’’ which uses a camera and computer to record suspicious activity. There’s also a gun holster, police radio and a ‘Paletta’ that advises motorists to pull over. Apart from keeping criminals at bay, the Huracan can save lives as it has a defibrillator and a refrigeration system which can be used to transport life saving organs.
In a statement, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said ‘We have a strong and fitting relationship with the Italian State Police. The new Lamborghini Huracán stands for Italian super sports car excellence and we are proud to provide it to the Italian State Police to carry out the specialist tasks these police cars undertake.”
