Mitsubishi showcases the concept GC-PHEV and XR-PHEV in Beijing

At the 2014 Beijing  Motor Show, Mitsubishi has showcased the Concept GC-PHEV and the Concept XR-PHEV  for the first time.

The Concept GC-PHEV is a next-generation large SUV with full-time 4WD that has all-terrain performance. It is equipped with an FR type PHEV system which consists of a 3-litre V6 supercharged MIVEC engine, an 8-speed AT, a high-output motor and a high-capacity battery.

The Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV on the other hand, is a next-generation compact SUV that uses a front engine, front-wheel drive layout with a PHEV system that is configured with a downsized 1.1-litre direct-injection turbocharged MIVEC engine, a lightweight, compact and high-efficiency electric motor with a high-capacity battery.

MITSUBISHI Concept XR-PHEV

The two concepts feature Mitsubishi’s latest bundle of active safety technologies and advanced “connected car” technology that utilises next-generation information systems. These functions include a danger detection system which activates the corresponding safety functions and a failure/malfunction early-detection system which urges the driver to seek repairs or other maintenance.

Apart from that, Mitsubishi is displaying a total of 11 models including models produced and sold in China such as the ASX compact SUV as well as the Outlander SUV at the motor show.
