If you ever get bored of renting the same old cars from Hertz or AVIS, you might tend to look for alternative sources. Especially if you are looking for something a bit more luxurious or sporty. Of course in Europe, AVIS has their Prestige line and other companies offer more. In the US, Miami based startup, CarHopper, is aiming to corner that market.
Having just raised $1.5 million in seed funding, the company which started out as a booking platform for smaller and local car rental agencies in the US, offers luxury cars from Ferraris to McLarens. Their new niche, boutique luxury car rental purveyors who then benefit from having an online presence and the service available to more people.

CarHopper has expanded to cities where luxury car rentals meet the lifestyles of the people there such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles and South Florida. In an ever growing shift in people’s lifestyles, there is definitely a need to meet. That shift is particularly related to where the newer generation is focused on experiences rather than assets.
This also includes targeting tourists who travel to the US and want to move around in style. According to CarHopper, the current luxury car rental market in the US is worth some $5 billion annually. They aim to capture a slice of that market.
