While several automakers like Honda and Toyota are recalling their older models for Takata airbag infiltrator replacements, there are still some companies selling their brand new cars overseas with the faulty airbags. Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari are among them.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) claims that these vehicles are legal to be sold in the US unless it is exposed to high humidity for an extended period of time. The said vehicles include the 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and 2016-2017 E-Class, and numerous 2016 and 2017 model year Ferraris like the FF, California T, 488 GTB/488 Spider, F12/F12tdf, and GTC4 Lusso.

It is also reported that the automakers will recall these vehicles by the end of 2018, and both Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari will inform customers that the vehicles they are buying will be subject to future recalls.

Besides Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, other automakers that are still using the defective Takata airbags are Toyota, Fiat, and Volkswagen, and all of them have agreed to notify buyers of the planned recalls.
