Spyshots of the 2017 Suzuki Swift have surfaced, with the new hatchback caught undergoing road tests in Germany.
While the test mule was heavily taped up, the halogen headlight matches the ones found on the earlier leaked photos. The rear end also looks similar to the leaked images, though this particular is fitted with smoked tail lights.
Lights aside, the taped up body did not conceal the Swift’s door handles, which confirms that the new hatchback will feature a pair of rear door handles integrated behind the window. The recess up front is also similar to where the front foglights would be positioned.
When the Swift hits the market in 2017, Suzuki will further downsize the car’s engine, relying on a small 1.0-litre petrol engine, while the Swift Sport could receive a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine, a first for the Swift. The Swift is expected to feature both a manual and CVT as transmission choices.
Unfortunately for us, Suzuki Malaysia Automobile have since ceased to sell new vehicles here, which means we won’t be seeing the 2017 Swift anytime soon.
