Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has just issued a recall for certain CBU models manufactured between 2007 and 2010 for the inspection of the V-ribbed belt and brake booster.
Models involved in the V-ribbed belt inspection include the Lancer, Lancer Sportback, Lancer Evolution and ASX. While in the case of the brake booster, only the CBU ASX is involved. Meanwhile, the locally-assembled ASX CKD models are not required to undergo this inspection.
MMM did not state the reason for this recall but the company will issue notification letters to affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the inspection and repair (if required) will be borne by Mitsubishi Motors if these parts needs to be replaced.
Vehicle owners affected by this recall can to make an appointment at any of Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the inspection and/or replacement of the above.
