After months of spyshots, Proton has officially launched the new 2016 Perdana, with prices starting from just RM113,888 for the Perdana 2.0, while the Perdana 2.4 P will retail for RM138,888.
Based on the eighth-generation Honda Accord, the 2016 Proton Perdana wears a different skin, though the side profile of the Perdana is pretty much similar to the Accord. Proton was not allowed to tinker with the suspension tuning as well as gearbox tuning, so in essence, the Perdana drives and behaves pretty much like the Accord.
The Proton Perdana gets its power from two engine choices, both of which are Honda powerplants. The first is a 2.0-litre K20A3 four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 154 hp at 6,300 rpm and 189 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The latter is a 2.4-litre K24Z3 four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 178 hp at 6,500 rpm 222 Nm at 4,300 rpm. Both engines are mated to Honda’s five-speed automatic.
Inside, both variants will carry tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual zone auto air conditioning, 8-way power adjustable driver seat with power lumbar support, rear foldable seats, Proton Infotainment System with a 6.2-inch TFT touchscreen with radio, CD, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, cruise control, remote power windows and 6 speakers.
For the Perdana 2.0, the interior is mainly black leather and fabric, with leather on the door inserts, while the Perdana 2.4 gets a beige and black full leather upholstery. The Perdana 2.4 also adds a 4-way power adjustable passenger seat, paddle shifters and a subwoofer.
Safety wise, both models gets dual front airbags with dual side airbags, ABS, EBD, front active head rest, auto headlights, seal belt pre-tensioner with load limiter system, front parking sensors and rear parking sensors, front anti trap power window, ISOFIX mounts and a reverse camera. The Perdana 2.4 adds Electronic Stability Control.

The 2016 Proton Perdana can be had in six colours, ranging from Ruby Red, Sterling Silver, Graphite Grey, Cotton White, Midnight Black and Citrine Gold.
