Motosikal Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd, better known as Modenas, has organised a test ride of their recently launched moped, the CT115S. We were at the test ride event and here’s our experience.
Priced at just below RM5,000, this moped is quite a deal if you’re on a budget and is in need of a proper daily commute machine.
The bike feels perfectly comfortable as I sat on it as the seat is not too hard. Although only powered by 115 cc engine, it does not feel slow going around the corners at Elite Speedway Circuit as the bike is light, as it should be.
The moped is also pretty sporty looking, I won’t deny that. It grabbed my attention the moment I reached the pit area. I couldn’t help but to notice the headlight is quite a looker!
Standard equipment includes a disc brake in the front, although I wished the rear was the same for better braking performance as when I went around the track, I could only rely on the front brakes and engine braking. Drum brakes are known to be less effective when it gets hot.
The Modenas CT115S also gets KYB rear shocks, which offers five levels of setup to suit the rider’s riding style. That is pretty generous of Modenas to include in the CT115S.
All in all, it’s quite a good moped that went around the track, with the proper setup of course.
