Hot! A lone photo has emerged, showcasing Proton’s upcoming Ertiga MPV in all its glory, thanks to the complete lack of camouflage!
From what we gathered, the Proton Ertiga will be very similar to the Proton Perdana issued to government official, meaning that Proton is performing a rebadge exercise for the first few batches of the Ertiga. There will be no Campro VVT engines powering the Ertiga, as the CKD packs will be coming from Indonesia, indicating that we will be receiving a 1.4-litre K14 four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 90 hp and 130 Nm, mated to a four-speed automatic.
Originally, we heard that the launch of the Ertiga was supposed to happen this month, though word on the street is that the Ertiga could be delayed to 2017 due to unforeseen circumstances.
With that being said, it is unlikely that Proton will be pricing the Ertiga above its key rival, the Perodua Alza, which currently retails for RM51,000 for the base model, all the way to RM63,000 for the Advanced variant.
