Some people have caught the all-new 2016 Honda Civic undergoing tests in Thailand, which is said to make a debut there some time next year!
Thanks to the folks at the headlightmag forum, the camouflage isn’t quite enough to disguise the Civic’s unique styling cues, with its signature rear lights design still visible. No front shots were provided, however.
The base 2016 Honda Civic is expected to carry forward its 1.8-litre engine from its predecessor, while the range-topper will drop the 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated motor for Honda’s brand new 1.5-litre turbocharged mill. In Thailand, both engines are mated to a CVT.
What about local availability? Our friends over at Carlist.my says that the new Civic isn’t expected to launch here until 2017, late-2016 even. They added that Honda’s recent reorganization is aimed to decrease lead time of a new model’s global debut and local debut, so the new 2016 Civic may arrive sooner than expected.
