Subaru has released a teaser photo of the company’s next-generation XV (also known an Crosstrek in other markets) which is expected to make its official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March this year.
Based on the teaser provided, it is immediately apparent that Subaru has adopted the styling of the XV Concept showcased at the Geneva Motor Show last year in designing the new production model. A new pair of taillights are immediately visible and appear slightly larger and more pointed than those of the outgoing XV.
Further styling upgrades include more pronounced body lines and curves running along both sides, a new set of wheels, updated taillights and an overall sportier profile.
Subaru didn’t mention anything about the crossover’s specifications, but it is expected to be based on Subaru’s new Global Platform, which is more rigid and has a lower center of gravity. These modular underpinnings will be used on all of its next-generation models and debuted on the new 2017 Impreza. The new XV will also likely to feature the company’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system combined with a refreshed version of the 2.0-litre Boxer engine found on the current model. The latest generations of Subaru’s EyeSight assistant technology and Starlink infotainment system are also expected to find a place in the new XV.
More details will be revealed closer to its launch date so stay tuned folks!
