In its 10th and final generation, the Lancer Evolution is a car that is beloved by many and arguably the originator of the 4-door sports car genre. To send it off in style, Mitsubishi USA has produced a limited-edition Lancer Evolution model dubbed, Final Edition.
Available in a limited run of 1,600 numbered units, the ‘Final Edition’ will benefit from a special Final Edition badging, black painted aluminum roof, gloss black center bumper and hood air outlet, dark chrome painted Enkei alloy wheels, dark chrome front grille surround, and auto on/off bi-xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with leveling control.
Several interior tweaks includes red stitch accents on sports seats, steering wheel, shift knob, console lid, floormats, and e-brake handle, gloss black center console box with individually numbered plaque as well as black pillars, sun visors, handles and headliner. As a final touch, there’s a special ‘Final Edition’ animation located on the meter display.
Under the hood, power is supplied by the familiar inline-4, 16-valve 2.0-litre turbocharged and intercooled engine churning out 303 bhp and 413 Nm of torque working together with the proprietary Super All Wheel control. It also gets lightweight two-piece Brembo brake rotors up front, accompanied by Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs at all four corners.
In terms of safety, Mitsubishi has fitted the Lancer Evolution Final Edition with 7 airbags, Active Stability Control (ASC) with Traction Control Logic (TCL), Sport anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), along with a tyre pressure monitoring system and the engine immobilizer anti-theft security alarm system.
Available in 4 colours, the 2015 Mitsubishi Final Edition Lancer Evolution cost $37,995 (approx RM165,418) each in the US.
