Hyundai Motor America have pulled the covers off the new 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport, which is positioned as the company’s range-topping variant.
The Elantra Sport gets a host of enhancements, including a new multilink rear suspension, a new turbocharged engine plus new design elements.
Powering the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport is a 1.6-litre TGDI four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs more than 200 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. Buyers of the Elantra Sport can choose between a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT with paddle shifters.
In addition to the extra power, the engineers at Hyundai have fitted the Elantra Sport with rear multilink suspension, a step up from its siblings’ rear torsion beam axle.
Visually, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport gets a bespoke bodykit plus unique interior enhancements, including a flat-bottom steering wheel, sport seats and red contrast stitching.
