Hot off the launch floor is Audi Malaysia’s latest model to their ever-growing lineup in the form of the all-new second generation Audi Q7!
This new Audi Q7 was first shown to the public at the 2015 North American International Auto Show back in January 2015, and arrived here is less than a year’s time. Impressive feat from Audi Malaysia.
For the Malaysian market, Audi will be offering the lone 3.0 TFSI V6 variant, with combined demand-controlled direct injection and manifold injection. The new Audi Q7 produces a maximum of 333 horsepower from 5,500 rpm till 6,500 rpm, while the peak torque of 440 Nm is readily available from 2,900 rpm till 5,300 rpm. An eight-speed tiptronic gearbox transfers all the power to all four wheels via the Audi Quattro system.
Inside, the second-generation Audi Q7 is able to fit seven people comfortably. The front seats are electrically adjustable with four-way lumbar support. The interior is adorned with leather all round, including a leather-wrapped three-spoke sports steering wheels with paddle shifters. Passengers will be cooled by a four-zone deluxe automatic airair-conditioning.
Like the Audi TT, the new Q7 also features the 8.3-inch MMI navigation plus with MMI touch. This satnav system features a 3D map, 10GB of flash memory for music, two SDXC card readers, two USB ports and a Bose 3D Sound System with a 15-channel amplifier and 19 loudspeakers.
The second-generation Audi Q7 boasts an exterior that is more compact than its predecessor. Up front, the large hexagonal grille is flanked by a pair of LED headlights with LED daytime running light. The Audi Q7 also gains high-beam assist, LED rear lights with dynamic indicators and a power liftgate.
This new SUV from Audi is also packed with numerous safety features, including eight SRS airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Hill Descent Control and Hold Assist.
Buyers can choose from ten colours, namely Carrara White, Glacier White, Floret Silver, Carat Beige, Argus Brown, Ink Blue, Graphite Grey, Night Black, Orca Black and a unique Daytona Grey with pearl effect. Those interested can book the new Q7 from all authorized Audi dealerships from 20 November onwards, with prices starting from RM589,900.

On the final approval drive, Prof. Dr. Hackenberg and his chief development engineers from Technical Development performed the last fine-tuning of the Audi Q7. With up to 325 kilograms (716.5 lb) less weight, it sets the benchmark among the competition. It is up to 28 percent more fuel efficient and is equipped with the latest assistance systems, infotainment modules and connect features.
