After teasing us a couple of weeks back, Honda Malaysia has officially unveiled the 2017 Honda City.
The Honda City has been Honda Malaysia’s best selling model since it was introduced back in 2014. Three years in, Honda has now given the City a minor nip and tuck.
For starters, Honda Malaysia has trimmed the number of variants down to three. The entry-level City 1.5 S and S+ will be consolidated as one model, joining the City 1.5 E and V. Prices start from RM78,300 for the base 1.5S, before moving up to the 1.5E’s RM84,600. The range-topping 1.5V will retail for RM92,000.
Powertrain remains unchanged, with the updated City featuring a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 120 PS and 145 Nm that drives the front wheels via a Honda Earth Dreams CVT-type automatic. Up front the City gets McPherson struts and torsion beam axle at the rear. Brakes are ventilated front and drum rears.
Five colours are available at launch, namely Lunar Silver Metallic, Taffeta White, Dark Ruby Red Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.

Honda Malaysia is backing the updated City with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty, plus up to 6 free labour services alternating with paid services up till 100,000 km. The Honda City scored 5 stars in the Adult Occupant Protection and 4 stars in the Child Occupant Protection by ASEAN NCAP.
