Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, is issuing a recall for 895 units of Mitsubishi Lancer models manufactured from September 2004 to April 2006 for the replacement of the passenger airbag inflator.
According to the automaker, some of the passenger side airbags may release metal fragments when deployed causing injuries to the passenger.
The company will issue notification letters to affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the replacement will be borne by the company.
MMM is also requesting its customers to make an appointment at their nearest Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the replacement of the airbag inflator.
