Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police told the local media site 7DAYS that they received a number of calls from interested buyers of the Ferrari Enzo.
He said, “The car remains in limbo as there is a legal dispute about it. Recently an American man, who is interested in buying rare cars, offered us Dhs6 million for it, but we can’t do anything with it for the moment.”
Apparently, the owner bought this prancing horse back in 2011, before leaving the country. After that, it was discovered that the owner was wanted as part of an Interpol investigation outside the country.
“The Enzo Ferrari is one of a limited number of custom-made cars. There are only 300 Enzos in the world. This legal dispute has delayed us doing anything with the car so it’s still in our detention centre,” added Saif Muhair.
While some may cringe at the idea of leaving a Ferrari Enzo under the blazing hot Dubai sunlight, the Dubai police force has moved the Enzo into a warehouse.
Police officers also emphasized that the car is not for sale, as Interpol has established that the Enzo was stolen, or bought with stolen assets.
A few years back, it was reported that the Dubai police force wanted to auction the car, but we guess that the Ferrari remains as one of the ongoing investigation’s primary evidence.
