Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has secured its leadership with a year-to-date sales increasing 70% to 8,196 units from the 4,817 units sold in 2014. Malaysia is Mercedes-Benz’s largest market for passenger cars in Southeast Asia.As of August 2015, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has managed to sell 7,194 units, an increase of the 6,932 units sold in 2014. For the third quarter of 2015, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia sold a total of 3,033 units, which is a growth of 109% from the 1,451 units sold in the same period in 2014.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia President and CEO, Dr Claus Weidner said, “We are moving from strength to strength and have certainly topped historical sales figures for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. The three consecutive four-digit sales figures in 3Q2015 is a welcomed addition to our string of record quarters.”
Topping the sales charts of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia are the locally-assembled C-,E- and S-Class, contributing a total of 2,188 units sold. A total of 861 units of the C-Class were sold, a sharp increase of 210% from 3Q2014. Following closely behind is the E-Class, with a total of 679 units sold, an increase of 72% from 3Q2015. The CKD S-Class hybrid has seen a total of 648 units sold in 3Q2015, an increase of 127% from the same period last year.
Elsewhere, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has seen an increase of 87% in the sales of their compact cars, with the CLA leading sales figures with a total of 301 units sold. The GLA, which was introduced less than a year ago, has contributed 299 units in 3Q2015. A total of 302 units of Mercedes-Benz’s AMG models were sold.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also introduced the new C200 Exclusive and C250 AMG. The duo will join the existing C200 Avantgarde in Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s line up. The Mercedes-Benz C200 Avantgarde will retail for RM248,888, while the C200 Exclusive will retail for RM252,888. As for the C250 AMG, the price is set at RM287,888.
