When Chinese automaker design cars, it is no surprise that they take inspiration from overseas. So when the time came for Youxia Motors to design and develop an electric car, guess where they took their inspiration from?

If you’ve guessed Tesla, give a pat on your back, as Youxia Motors has definitely looked at the Tesla Model S for inspiration. The front grille of the Youxia X screams Tesla, but the rest of the Youxia is of their own design.

The Youxia X will be powered by an electric motor with 348 hp and 440 Nm of torque, and can be optioned with several battery capacities, ranging from 40 kWh, 60 kWh to 85 kWh. The highest capacity battery can deliver a range of 460 km, while the 60 kWh battery can last up to 330 km. The smallest battery of the lot is good for 220 km.

Inside of the cabin is a large touchscreen LCD that looks suspiciously like the Tesla Model S, and runs a custom Android OS called KITT OS! No, we’re not kidding. Vehicle controls are accessed through this touchscreen system, and owners can connect their Apple or Android devices to the system.

Unlike Tesla however, the Youxia X’s front grille takes a leaf from Knight Rider’s star car, KITT. The front grille can display anything you desire, like KITT’s red running lights, the Youxia logo, or even a cat!
