Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced today that Dr Claus Weidner will be the successor to Roland Folger, current president and CEO. Dr Claus Weidner will take on the role as President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia in October 2015.
Dr Claus Weidner will bring to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia 20 years of his experience, and has held various positions in the company, including Sales and Marketing and Corporate Strategy at the German headquarters. Dr Weidner has also held the position of Head of Sales and Marketing Passenger Cars in China. Apart from that, Dr Weidner has experience in leading the entire Mercedes-Benz business in Hong Kong, Macau and Indonesia.
During his tenure at P.T. Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia, Dr Claus Weidner has managed to retain Mercedes-Benz as the market leader with positive sales volume. Furthermore, Dr Weidner has also focused on increasing network and after-sales business.

Since Roland Folger assumed the role in 2011, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has seen itself evolve into the leading premium brand of the Malaysian market and becoming the top premium car manufacturer. Roland Folger has put emphasis on cross-functional cooperation, training, process optimisation and employee satisfaction during his tenure.
Roland Folger also led the ‘Employer of Choice 2014’ project, which won Mercedes-Benz Malaysia the regional HR award making it one of the best companies for work for in 2014.
After his tenure in Malaysia, Roland Folger will move to lead Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd as their Managing Director and CEO at the end of the year.
