Malaysian Moto2 rider Zaqhwan Zaidi has entered the fourth race of the season, and also the first in Europe. He is now even more confident to compete against the more experienced riders, after having the opportunity to ride around the challenging Jerez track during pre-season testing.
Within the two-week period after the Argentina Grand Prix, much has been improved on his Suter bike. For Jerez de la Frontera, the Spanish Grand Prix will be special, as it has been named Motorcycling Capital of the World.
Zaqhwan said, “Conditions in Jerez will be absolutely different for Qatar, Austin in the USA and Argentina. In fact, all three past races presented different atmosphere and climate; hence, different kind of challenges for me and the team. The past three races was an adjustment period for all of us and we hope to start improving our performance soon. Those three race had provided valuable experience and priceless knowledge for me to understand myself, the bike and the competition. The next few races will be in Europe and hopefully, the differences in conditions are not too diverse like we experienced in the opening three races.”
While team manager of JPMoto Racing Team Raja Zaini Raja Mohamad Nor said, “The team has been working very hard over the past two weeks in making adjustments to the bike to further improve its performance. We learned plenty from the opening three rounds and are now more familiar with the behavior of the machine. To a certain extent, the changes that we made for Jerez are quite drastic. It is the fourth round and the time has come to come out with a more solid performance and more justifiable results. We look forward to the race this weekend with renewed confidence and belief.”
