MINI has announced that four MINI Cooper S will have a starring role in an upcoming Hollywood movie called Pixels, where the world is threatened with annihilation by…. 80’s video game characters!
In Pixel, the world turns into a real-life video game. Extra-terrestrials pick up signals of the most popular games of the 1980s, including Space Invaders, in which players aim to destroy small pixelated aliens. The aliens misinterpret this as a declaration of war and swiftly dispatch an oversized Pac-Man and Donkey Kong to the world, where they turn everything they touch into pixels.
In order to save the world, the U.S. government recruits a group of 4 talented old-school arcaders from the 1980s, (Why wasn’t I summoned!? – CW) to battle against the giant Pac-Man with the help of their individual “MINI Ghosts” – four MINI Cooper S 3-door models and they are called Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde – the nicknames of the enemies in the arcade.
This movie should be interesting to watch because many would remember playing these classic arcade games as a kid, such as Tetris, Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong. Pixels will arrives in movie theaters across the U.S. in July 2015 and the film stars Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Denis Akiyama and Josh Gad.
