When a group of bikers stopped the traffic to rescue a dog who jumped out of a car, we weren’t sure either to be touched by their heroism or cringe because stopping on a busy highway has never been a good idea. Did it end well?
Yes, thankfully the dog was saved and no one was hurt, but there’s a looming question if their decision to stop in the middle of the highway was the right one to take, as this incident could have ended very badly.
Last year, a woman in Canada caused the deaths of a father and daughter after she stopped in the middle of the road to help a group of ducklings cross the road. A 50 year old father and his 16-year old daughter riding a motorcycle couldn’t stop in time and slammed into the rear-end of the her car, killing both of them instantly. The animal-lover served 90-days in jail for criminal negligence and had her license suspended for 10 years.
