The Perfect Toy for Your Kid

Engine repair set

I am definitely at that age where my friends and family start asking me whether I would be having a kid anytime soon. As soon as I give them the usual answer, which is probably going to be, either next year or when we are ready, I sometimes tend to wander about in my mind what would be the case in the event if I actually had a son. I know I have encouraged some of my friends who have sons to bring their kids to the go-kart track to let them have a go but sometimes I always wonder what sort of toys are available nowadays instead of just leaving an iPad with your kid.

Then I came across this and straight away I knew that this would be the best sort of toy for any kid who wants to know more about cars. Aptly named as “The Car Lover’s Engine Repair Set” this toy is available at Hammacher Schlemmer at a cost of USD$119.95 (around RM382).

This is the front half of a car that lets aspiring mechanics pop the hood, change the oil, and tinker with the engine. With a removable cowling, spark plugs, wing nuts, and other lifelike car components, children can practice testing the brakes, changing the air filter, and using the dipstick to check the oil levels. Once a repair job is complete, kids can even get behind the wheel to turn the ignition key and hear how the engine sounds when it starts. The car has a working horn and headlights, and the set comes with a screwdriver, wrench, and other tools sized to fit little grease-monkey hands. Requires eight AAA batteries. Ages 3 and up. 17″ L x 15 3/4″ W x 20 3/4″ D. (13 1/2 lbs.)

Now I wished I had toys like these when I was growing up.
