Lexus Malaysia has just opened it seventh outlet in Malaysia today. Officially known as Lexus Ipoh, the new outlet is located along Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh. The opening of this new Lexus centre marks the 2nd outlet launched by Lexus Malaysia in the span of 4 months. The last Lexus outlet was launched in Sarawak in June.
Speaking during the official opening ceremony of Lexus Ipoh, President of UMW Toyota Motor Datuk Ismet Suki (below, right) said, “Lexus Malaysia has invested close to RM90 million in expanding our network with the introduction of several outlets beginning with Lexus Mutiara Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, Sungai Besi, Penang, Johor, Kuching, Ipoh and next on our list is Malacca. Lexus Malacca is due to be launched in the final quarter of 2014.”
Lexus Ipoh is a double-story building that is built on a 30,000 sq ft land area. It features a mezzanine floor and a roof top stockyard. The building incorporates a modern contemporary design and is also staffed by the finest in hospitality and engineering. The facility will be able to display up to four of the latest Lexus models and will also operate a service centre with four service bays. It is operated by 16 well-trained staff in sales and after sales under the leadership of Mr. Sukumar Visvanathan, Sales and Customer Service Operations Manager.
Lexus Ipoh is operated by Telagamas Motors Sdn Bhd, a successful dealer of Lexus and Toyota vehicles. Telagamas Motors also operates Lexus Penang, and two Toyota dealerships in Kulim and Tanjung Malim. Telegamas Motors Sdn Bhd invested over RM15 million into the setting up of Lexus Ipoh and hopes to sell 90 cars with the new Lexus ES expected to lead the model-mix expansion in Ipoh.
