Hiroyoshi Kato, Technical Meister at Nissan, is a veteran test driver. His experience in vehicle evaluation at the “Green Hell” started in 1988 with the development of R32 GT-R. Along with the racing drivers Michael Krumm, Sébastien Buemi, Armin Hahne and Testuya Tanaka, he was recently part of a development team for the new Nissan GT-R NISMO, which marked 7:08.679 around the ‘Ring – the fastest lap ever for a volume production car.
Having joined Nissan since he was 18 years old, Hiroyoshi Kato was sent to the Green Hell when he was 28 and was put in charge of developing the R32. From then onwards, his experience and time at the ring increased his driving skill as well as his ability to evaluate cars.
