Alongside the new BMW 3 series, the all-new X3 20 xDrive M Sport has arrived, raising the bar once again for luxury SUVs with a bold new look, a smarter, more connected cabin, and an evolved powertrain. It has a price tag of RM349,000.
From the moment you lay eyes on it, the new X3 makes a clear statement. Its design language has shifted toward the modern and monolithic—large surfaces, sharp lines, and a more aggressive stance. The front end features a taller bonnet paired with a striking dual-element kidney grille in Pearl Chrome, now brought to life with BMW’s Iconic Glow.
Flanking the grille are redesigned LED headlights with distinctive L-shaped elements, sharpening its visual identity.
Move to the side and you’ll see an elongated bonnet, short overhangs, and a wheelbase that signals performance. The profile gets extra attitude from standard 19-inch M Y-spoke bicolour alloy wheels and the clean look of body-coloured wheel arches—no more bulky black cladding here.
Around the back, the X3 gets sleeker with new split rear lights that reimagine the signature BMW double L-shape, with integrated turn signals and a sculpted rear design that finishes the look with precision.
Step inside, and the X3 20 xDrive M Sport shifts gears into full-on digital luxury. Front and centre is the expansive BMW Curved Display—merging a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch control screen—angled toward the driver like a cockpit. Powered by the latest BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect, this setup offers easy access to media, maps, settings, and even gaming apps, all controlled by touch, voice, or the signature BMW Controller.
Below the display, the illuminated BMW Interaction Bar delivers both ambient light and touch-sensitive controls, with 15 colour options to set the mood. Fine-brushed aluminium trim and sculpted Veganza upholstery—available in Black or Espresso Brown—combine for a warm, high-end feel.
A flattened-bottom M leather steering wheel, wireless charging tray with 15W output, and a redesigned centre console round out the tech-savvy interior. There’s no shortage of convenience either, with comfort access, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and up to 1,700 litres of cargo space.
Under the hood, the new X3 runs on a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with 48V mild hybrid tech, producing 190 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and, for the first time, comes standard with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The result? A confident 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 215 km/h—more control, more grip, and more thrill.
Chassis upgrades make the ride even sharper. With stiffer rear axle bearings, revised stabiliser mountings, and a 45 mm wider rear track, the X3 handles winding roads with ease while soaking up uneven terrain. The more direct steering ratio gives you better feedback, making every turn feel precise and connected.
Standard safety and driver-assist systems include Driving Assistant Plus, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Steering and Lane Control Assist, and Parking Assistant Plus with Remote 3D View. BMW Digital Key, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and over-the-air updates round out a suite that’s as smart as it is safe.
The New BMW X3 20 xDrive M Sport isn’t just another SUV—it’s a tech-powered, design-forward performance machine.
