After months of teasing, a public debut at Malaysia Auto Show 2024, and the recent setup of its local brand network, the Jetour Dashing has officially hit Malaysian roads. This is the first model from Jetour to enter the Malaysian market.
If you’re new to the name, Jetour is part of China’s Chery Auto Group – a huge player in the game – but positions itself as the more premium, style-forward cousin. Think of it as the cooler sibling compared to other Chery sub-brands like Jaecoo. Here in Malaysia, Jetour operates under its own independent distributor, Jetour Malaysia, separate from Chery Auto Malaysia.
Now, onto the main event – the Dashing itself. It arrives in two trims: the entry-level Comfort and the top-tier Prime. Both versions look pretty much the same on the outside, with five body colours to choose from – Black, Grey, Green, White, and Red – but they’re split by features and tech.
Let’s talk size. The Dashing is classified as a C-segment SUV and comes in at 4,590mm long, 1,900mm wide, 1,685mm tall, and rides on a 2,720mm wheelbase. Translation? It’s spacious, solid, and has serious road presence.

Design-wise, it’s bold and sleek with coupe-like curves, LED split headlights and DRLs, a chunky grille, flushed door handles, and sporty 18-inch (Comfort) or 19-inch (Prime) two-tone alloys.
Under the bonnet, it packs a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine making 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque. Power goes to the front wheels via a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox. This setup keeps things efficient without skimping on punch, and the kerb weights of 1,513kg (Comfort) and 1,553kg (Prime) mean it’s not lugging around unnecessary bulk.
Inside, both trims share plenty. Black and red leather upholstery, dual 10.25-inch digital displays, ventilated and heated front seats, keyless entry and start, a 50W wireless charger, plus both USB-A and USB-C ports – it’s all standard. There’s also wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone auto air-con, and voice command functions that actually respond smartly.
But the Prime trim pulls ahead with more premium kit: a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a 6-speaker sound system (versus 4 in Comfort), powered seats for both front passengers (Comfort gets powered driver only), and a reclining rear bench for chill backseat vibes.
Safety? Jetour’s got you. Both variants come stacked with airbags, ABS, traction and stability control, Hill Hold Control, and a TPMS. But if you want the fancy stuff, the Prime adds a 360° camera with transparent chassis view, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Door Open Warning, and Lane Change Warning. Worth noting though – despite all that, there’s no semi-autonomous driving on board.
Pricing? RM109,800 for the Comfort, RM116,800 for the Prime. First 500 buyers get a sweet RM2,000 rebate too. Jetour’s also throwing in a solid after-sales package: 7-year/150,000km vehicle warranty, five free services (parts and labour included), and a jaw-dropping 10-year/1 million km engine warranty.
Bottom line? Jetour’s coming in hot, and the Dashing is living up to its name.
