It’s official—Alpine is retiring the A110 sportscar, but they sure aren’t letting it go quietly. Instead, they’ve cranked everything up to eleven and unleashed the most hardcore, track-focused version yet: the Alpine A110 R Ultime.

This isn’t just another special edition with some fancy stickers—this is Alpine giving the Porsche 718 GT4 RS a serious reason to check its mirrors.
Under the Hood: Small but Mighty
So, the question here is do Porsche really have to worry? Well for starters, powering the A110 R Ultime is a 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s been given a bigger turbo and a shot of extra aggression, pushing output to 340 HP and 420 Nm of torque.

That’s still a fair way off the GT4 RS’s monstrous 493 HP, but Alpine isn’t about brute force—it’s about precision and agility. Plus, the Ultime rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, only 0.4 seconds shy of the Porsche.
Light as a Feather, Sharp as a Knife
Alpine has stuck to their lightweight philosophy, and it shows. While the exact weight hasn’t been disclosed, expect it to tip the scales even lower than the 1,100 kg A110 R. Carbon fibre is everywhere—from the aero kit to multiple body panels—keeping things as lean and mean as possible.

Add in Ohlins TTX dampers, sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, and a massive rear wing generating 160 kg of downforce, and you’ve got a recipe for a corner-carving monster. Stopping duties are handled by AP Racing brakes, so you can hurl it into bends with absolute confidence.

Limited, Exclusive, and Pricey
As a proper farewell to the A110, Alpine is only making 110 units of the R Ultime. Each will set you back a cool €265,000 (RM1.23 million)—or, if you fancy the ultra-exclusive La Bleue edition, you’re looking at €330,000 (RM1.53 million).

But let’s be real—these will be collector’s items before they even hit the roads. Expect resale prices to climb into the stratosphere once the hammer drops at auctions.
A Proper Send-Off
To make the farewell even sweeter and to send a statement, Alpine recently sent it to the Nurburgring to lay down an official lap time, and the numbers speak for themselves—7 minutes and 15 seconds. That’s a full 20 seconds faster than the standard A110 R! Sure, it’s still six seconds behind the GT4 RS (and an extra three seconds with Porsche’s Manthey Kit), but considering the power difference, that’s damn impressive.

While it may not snatch the Nurburgring crown from Porsche, the A110 R Ultime is a true swansong for Alpine’s beloved sportscar. It’s fast, featherlight, and unapologetically track-focused—a proper road-legal circuit car. As Alpine prepares for an electric future, this is their way of saying: “We’re not done having fun just yet.”
