Jaecoo Malaysia has officially started delivering 500 units of its latest coupe SUV, the Omoda C9, to authorized dealerships nationwide. This marks a significant step in the brand’s rollout plan for the locally assembled (CKD) model, ensuring that customers will soon get their hands on this exciting new offering.
Expressing her gratitude for the warm reception of the Omoda C9 in Malaysia, Jaecoo Malaysia Vice President Emily Lek emphasized the brand’s commitment to supporting its customers.
“We’re ready to take our customers on the next phase of their ownership journey with Jaecoo, backed by our extensive network of exceptional dealers. In light of the ever-evolving automotive market, we look forward to contributing to the industry’s steady growth, ultimately benefiting consumers,” she said.
The Omoda C9 made its Malaysian debut in December 2024, with local assembly kicking off that same month at the newly established Chery Shah Alam CKD factory.
The model comes in two variants: the C9 Premium Off-road SUV Coupé All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and another C9 Premium Off-road SUV Coupé All-Wheel Drive (AWD).

The higher-end variant is priced at RM188,800, while the other comes in at RM168,800. Regardless of the price difference and drivetrain, both versions come with a 7-year or 150,000km mileage warranty.
Under the hood, both variants share the same 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering 257 HP and 400 Nm of torque. Aside from the drivetrain distinction, both models are packed with premium features and amenities, making them competitive in their segment.

As for what’s next, Jaecoo Malaysia hasn’t revealed details about upcoming models just yet. However, the brand is gearing up to introduce a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of its J7 SUV, potentially as early as this month (February).
Since officially launching in mid-2024, Jaecoo has been making waves in the Malaysian market. In just five months after its July 2024 debut, the brand sold over 7,000 units of its first model, the Jaecoo J7. With more new models, including the J7 PHEV, expected to launch this year, Jaecoo seems poised to keep its momentum strong well into 2025.
