After its regional launch last year at the Sepang International Circuit (launch article link here) by Yamaha Motors Co. Ltd, Hong Leong Yamaha Motors (HLYM) has launched the most anticipated auto moped in Malaysia, the NVX 155, otherwise known as the Aerox in some other countries.
In-line with their Blue Core beliefs, the NVX is the first model to receive the Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status from the authorities. The NVX is powered by a four-stroke 155cc, liquid cooled, SOHC engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA).
The engine produces a claimed 14.8hp at 8,000rpm and 13.8Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. The NVX is styled bulkier than the popular Nmax, it also boasts a full LCD instrument cluster, ABS brakes in the front as standard, an auto stop-start system, and a keyless-start and go feature.
The NVX also comes with a bigger 25-litre under-seat compartment, as well as a smaller compartment on the left side below the handle, which houses a charging port for your smaller devices.
Colour options available are Black, Yamaha’s signature Silver-Blue and Matte Red. Availability is said to be starting from end July at authorised dealers and priced at RM 10,500.00 including GST (roadtax & insurance excluded)
Also, as part of HLYM’s effort to promote the NVX, there will be a one-make race during the Cub Prix on Saturday, 15 July at MAEPS Serdang; at the same time, HLYM will be doing a public launch of the NVX at the said event.
