The realm of “modern-retros” has just gotten a boost with the launch today of the new locally-assembled Ace 125 Cafe Racer, brought in by Sky Team M’sia Sdn Bhd.
Boasting 11bhp and 8.5Nm of torque plus a 1 year / 10,000kms warranty, the Ace 125 uses a Honda derived engine (from a CG125) with many improvements, especially in the area of smoothness and power delivery, allowing for a top speed of 110kmh. The Ace 125 comes with both kick- and electric-start, and stopping power is by way of a single disc up-front, and a drum in the rear.
Ideally suited for city commuting, it burns only 2.1L per 100km. It’s priced at an affordable RM7,366.78 OTR with GST, road tax and insurance. It should prove a worthy option for those seeking a fun runabout for daily commuting, when a kapchai simply won’t do.
An elongated 9.2-litre petrol tank sets off the typical Cafe Racer styling, accentuated by a slim seat and low handlebars. The single-seat with rear bullet-cowl above is an optional accessory for those who prefer solo riding.
