Buyers of the recently facelifted Golf who want to upgrade their car with much sportier features but can’t afford to pay the premium price tag for the racy R variant can now equip their car with R-Line packages.
Available to both hatchback and wagon, the R-Line does not include performance modifications but instead, Volkswagen offers a choice of two styling packages that allows you to spruce up the standard Golf’s exterior while the other package brings some sporty attitude inside as well. The R-Line package is available for both Comfortline and Highline models.
The R-Line exterior package includes sportier front and rear bumpers as well as sill extensions finished in glossy black. A new rear spoiler with aero flaps is standard to the package, as is the diffuser at the back flanked by trapezoidal exhaust tips featuring a chrome finish. Rounding off the exterior upgrades are the R-Line badges visible on the front fenders and on the grille. This sporty exterior package will cost you €1,105 (RM5,229) for the Highline or €1,295 (RM6,128) for the Comfortline.
Meanwhile, the complete inside and out R-Line package adds stainless steel door sill panels, pedal caps, and foot rest. It also comes with a black roofline and sport seats that can be optionally covered in leather at an additional cost. Also part of the package are decorative inlays, a sportier steering wheel (with the R-Line badge), and contrast stitching for the gear shifter and floor mats. An R-Line logo on the display start screen will serve as a reminder that you’re not driving a run-of-the-mill Golf. Buyers can also choose from a selection of 17 or 18-inch “Sebring” alloy wheels, 17-inch “Singapore” alloy wheels or 18-inch “Marseille” alloy wheels to complete the overall sporty Golf looks.
This interior and exterior upgrade will cost you €1,800(RM8,518) for the Highline or €2,295 (RM10,861) for the Comfortline.
