Unveiled last month, the new Proton Ertiga has been awarded with a 4-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP.
Since the Proton Ertiga is based on Suzuki Ertiga’s MPV model, ASEAN NCAP has extended the Suzuki MPV’s rating to the model now produced by Proton. The Suzuki Ertiga was crash tested in April this same year and was awarded with 4-Star rating at 12.39 points for the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category.
In the Child Occupant Protection (COP), the B-segment MPV achieved a rating of 2-Star by meeting 33% compliance due to seatbelt as child restraint system method in the tested variant. Nevertheless, ISOFIX and top tether are available in all variants. Similar to its predecessor, the Ertiga is equipped with standard dual airbag for its frontal occupants.
The tested variant had Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for driver only and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) offered as optional. However, both items are available as standard across all variants. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is absent in all the model’s variants.
Available in three variants, the Proton Ertiga is priced between RM58,800 to RM64,800. Click here to find out more info about the MPV.
