For this video, Proton highlights its Hot Press Forming (HPF) process that makes a modern Proton so safe. Since the Proton Preve, Proton models adopted the HPF process for key structures in the car, creating a significantly stronger body shell with reduced body weight. This allowed modern Proton cars to be structurally strong, earning their cars the full five star rating by Asean NCAP and ANCAP.
The 2016 Proton Persona continues this trend, featuring HPF steel in various parts of the body shell. Like the Iriz it’s based on, the 2016 Proton Persona is also expected to net the full five star crash test rating from Asean NCAP.
