UMW Toyota Motor has finally pulled the wraps off the all-new Toyota Sienta, with prices starting from just RM92,900. The Sienta is fully-imported from Toyota Indonesia’s Kerawang plant.
Available in two trim levels, the Toyota Sienta has a generous standard equipment list, including LED daytime running lights, rear fog lamp, power adjustable & retractable wing mirrors with side indicators, all round power window with driver auto up and down with anti-pinch, rear blower, 50:50 split second row seats with one touch tumble, 50:50 split third row seats with dive in, VSC, TRC, ABS, EBD, HAC and three airbags.
Powering both variants of the Toyota Sienta is a 1.5-litre 2NR-FE four-cylinder petrol engine with Dual-VVTi, which outputs 107 PS at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Both variants of the Toyota Sienta feature a 7-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic, which can be engaged from the gear shifter itself.
The entry-level Toyota Sienta 1.5G features 185/60R15 tires all round, halogen projector headlights with Auto On/Offand& Manual Leveling, bulb type position lights, LED rear combination lights, intermittent and mist front wipers and left side power sliding door. Moving inside, the entry-level model gets a regular black interior with black fabric inserts on the seats, regular backlit meter cluster with mono colour Multi Info Display (MID) and manual air-conditioning. The infotainment system consists of a 2-DIN head unit with Bluetooth, USB, AUX and tuner, with audio played through a 6 speaker set up. The 3-spoke urethane steering wheel is tilt adjustable while the gear level is also urethane.
Moving to the Toyota Sienta 1.5V, this model features slightly larger 195/50R16 tires all round, front acoustic windshield, Bi-LED projector headlights with Auto On/Off & Auto Leveling, LED daytime running lights, LED guide lights up front, LED rear combination lights with LED guide lights, intermittent with time adjustable and mist front wipers with power sliding doors on the left and right side. Inside, the interior is also black like the 1.5G, but the 1.5V gets brown inserts on the seats, smart entry & start system, front passenger back seat pocket and under seat tray, Optitron meter cluster, colour TFT MID, automatic air-conditioning and a built-in digital video recorder. Here, audio is backed by a 2-DIN infotainment system with a 6.8-inch touchscreen display with tuner, USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. Like the Sienta 1.5G, a 6 speaker system is also found here. The 3-spoke steering wheel is leather-wrapped and features audio and MID controls. The gear level is also leather-wrapped.
Safety is identical on both variants, which includes ABS, EBD, Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), reverse sensor, 3 airbags including a driver knee airbag and ISOFIX child seat mounts on the second row seats. A reverse camera is offered as a standard equipment on the Sienta 1.5V, though buyers of the Sienta 1.5G can get a reverse camera if they opt for the DVD-AVX or AVN system. Both Sienta variants also get 2 remote control keys, immobilizer, siren with backup battery, cabin sensor and a tilt sensor.
Optional extras for the Toyota Sienta include the Toyota Premium Security & Solar Film (1.5G only, included on the 1.5V) and a DVD-AVN system which consists of a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, WiFi, built-in browser, HDMI, USB, Bluetooth, navigation and reverse camera (both variants). The Toyota Sienta 1.5G can also be optioned with the 1.5V’s DVD-AVX system.
Six body colours are available, including Orange Metallic, Quartz Brown Metallic, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Attitude Black and Super White II.
Prices start from RM92,900.00 for the Toyota Sienta 1.5G, while the range-topping Sienta 1.5V costs RM99,900.00. Price quoted are OTR, inclusive of insurance for the first year. The Toyota Sienta is backed by a 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
