Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd, a fully-owned subsidiary of Perodua, and PERDA-TECH, a training organisation under the Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Pulau Pinang (PERDA) officially opens the Perodua Technical Training Centre at the PERDA-TECH facility in Nibong Tebal, Penang.
The Perodua Technical Training Centre is set up specifically to train students on technical knowledge pertaining to automotive mechanics and maintenance.
The centre will be used as a training lab for PERDA-TECH students and in return PERDA-TECH will allow Perodua Sales to conduct training for some 1,000 staff in the northern region of the country at its location.

“This collaboration is part of our commitment towards empowering youths through education, hence enhancing the country’s human capital development, while at the same time continuing our efforts to further improve our people through continuous training,” YBhg Datuk Dr. Nik Norzrul Thani Nik Hassan Thani, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Chairman said.
The Perodua Technical Training Centre was officiated by the Yang di Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama (Dr.) Hj Abdul Rahman Abbas. YBhg Datuk Haji Nor Rizan Thani, Deputy Director-General Strategic Development Sector ICU JPM, YB Datuk Shabudin Yahaya, PERDA Chairman, YBhg Datuk Abdul Wahab Abdullah, President & CEO MIMOS, Perodua President & CEO Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh and Dr Zahari Husin, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director also attended the official ceremony.
As part of the agreement, Perodua has spent a sum of RM263,700 to furnish the facility with equipments and vehicles; while PERDA-TECH will provide the facilities for both training and lodging for Perodua staff attending training.
Perodua will also train the lecturers from PERDA-TECH on automotive knowledge, which include automotive mechanics and maintenance, over a 6-month modular after which these lecturers will be able to train PERDA-TECH students.
PERDA was established on 1st June 1983 under the 282 Act under the Unit Penyelasaran Pelaksanaan, Jabatan Perdana Menteri (ICU, JPM) on 1 August 2005. PERDA-TECH is a training institution under PERDA.
PERDA-TECH offers 19 courses in various fields and has 1,179 students at its Nibong Tebal campus currently.
