The Nissan Kicks has been revealed in full production form, thanks to a set of Instagram photos. The Kicks was first shown as a concept at the 2014 São Paulo Auto Show.
Nissan will debut the Kicks in Latin America first, before introducing it to other markets. Led by Nissan design boss Shiro Nakamura, the Kicks was conceived through a collaboration between Nissan Design America in San Diego and Nissan Design America, Rio.
We do know that the Nissan Kicks will utilize the company’s V Platform, which also underpins the Nissan Almera. Apart from that, the Kicks also gets the company’s large V Motion front grille, large wheel arches and a ‘floating’ roof design. Wheelbase of the Nissan Kicks is slightly longer than the Juke’s 2,530 mm, coming in at 2,620 mm. The Nissan Kicks is also 175 mm longer than the Juke.
Nissan remained mum on the Kicks’ specifications, though the Kicks could be powered by a flex-fuel 1.6-litre engine mated to a five-speed manual or an Xtronic CVT.
Initial production of the Kicks will begin in Brazil, before the company slowly exports the Kicks worldwide. If priced correctly, the Nissan Kicks could be a serious contender in the popular compact SUV segment.
